Vote for your new board Thu April 19th

It’s that time of the year again. Time for you to vote for your Board of Directors for the Higley Instrumental Association. All parents are encouraged to attend the booster meeting on Thursday, April 19th 7pm in the band room at Higley High School.

Every year, all positions are open for nominations or volunteers to be voted onto the board.

Here’s a summary of the board positions and the role each plays:
President
The president provides leadership and direction to the board of directors and preside over board meetings. Additionally, this position collaborates with the director (Mr. Sharp) to ensure the boosters/HIA are meeting the needs of Higley’s instrumental music program.

Vice President
The vice president oversees fundraising and volunteer support for HIA. This position works with the volunteer and fundraising chairpersons to ensure fundraisers are successful and volunteer needs are met. The vice president assumes the responsiblities of the president in their absense.

Secretary
The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at meetings and sending out communications for the boosters.

Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for balancing Higley Instrumentals Account, maintaining our non-profit status and filing tax paperwork.

Fundraising Chairperson
The fundraising chairperson oversees all functions associated with fundraising. This position reports to the vice president and can appoint event chairpersons to oversee specific fundraisers.

Volunteer Chairperson
The volunteer chairperson ensures the volunteers needs to support Higley’s music programs and HIA functions are met. This position reports to the vice president and communicates with general membership about volunteer opportunties.
